Putting The Womb Raider in Tomb Raider

Swan diving off cliffs and blasting tigers to death are just a few of my childhood memory's. I am of course, talking about Tomb Raider. Sitting along side Final Fantasy VII and Tekken. Lara Croft managed to find a spot At the time, Tomb Raider, was Thee Action, Adventure game you needed. Puzzles, caves combined with monkeys and velociraptors, seemed to fit in nicely with Lara's, duel wielding pistols.

Now after the Success of Tomb Raider, Lara came back with more cool things in Tomb Raider II. Tomb Raider had become a house hold name and eventually transferred to the silver screen, Angelina Jolie, donning the role of Lara Croft. The films were crap at best and the games were not all to much better. For some reason the same feeling from the originals, was just not there.
So why should we be looking to play this new, re-invented, gritty, Tomb Raider? Well you know what I think it looks quite good so far. The game is a prequel to the others (from what we have seen anyway) and does seem to deliver quite a nice cinematic feel. Lara has to navigate her way out of a cave and in her younger days, Lara is not blessed with the skill she has, in her later raiding years. luckily, we are and so you start to navigate our way out but it's not that simple. A nice dose of crazy people do there best to try send you six feet under.
After a continuous uphill battle, Lara is out but as she stares across the ocean, it is filled with ship wrecks. This is just the beginning and could be the reboot this game needs, although as times are changing how big is the market for these puzzle platform games.

Do you still enjoy these types of games? and how do you think the re-invented Tomb Raider will do?
